Child Support @ 10!

Kritische toespraak over Child Protection: Geen woorden maar Daden!

Addressing my Opening Speech

On May 2nd 2015, we celebrated our 10 years anniversary! It was a party for our children. We invited all dignitaries of Wa and the Upper West Region, however, it was significant that none of the dignitaries showed up… But the children did not mind it and the Deputy Ambassador of The Netherlands in Ghana came all the way from Accra to join our party and to reveal a new sign board on one of the homes. The late Nelson Mandela has inspired me to do the work for the needy children and the home now is named “Mandela’s Dream“!

Our presenters Rukaya en Sheila

Our presenters Sheila and Rukaya welcomed everybody and I did a speech emphasizing the need of protecting children. Unfortunately people here talk a lot about Child Protection, but almost nothing happened because of the lack of money.

After the official part of the celebration, the children had an entertaining programme with dances. poems and songs. Our guests really liked their performances and I am so proud of our children and our Housemothers. They did very well.
IMG_3300Among our guests weren Ton and Trudy van Arkel, Foster Family of one of our children from Holland and Mrs. Els Hoeffnagel, a volunteer from Holland, Mr. John Bredahl from Denmark, Brother Albert Ketelaar, representative of the Ministry of Children and many others. All of them were very impressed by the well organized and disciplined party.
